The Club

The Northern Colorado Disc Golf club—also known as "NoCo" for short—is a public sports club devoted to promoting and spreading awareness of disc golf. Each year, we run many tournaments and disc golf-related events, along with seasonal leagues and smaller, weekly events. For information about what we have coming up, check out the Local Scene page.

Our Mission

The NCDGC is dedicated to representing the needs and interests of Disc Golfers of all ages and abilities by promoting competitive events and outreach programs, facilitating course development and preservation, and communicating with local officials.

A Brief History

The club started out at Colorado State University as a student club. It was named the "Grateful Disc Frisbee Club" at the Grateful Dead's famed 1978 Red Rocks shows. It was initially an "Overall" club, meaning it not only focused on disc golf, but also on other disc sports and games such as Ultimate, Freestyle, Maximum Time Aloft and more.

The club hosted many major events throughout the years, and has been instrumental in installing multiple courses in Fort Collins, Windsor, Laporte and the Northern Colorado area. Most recently, we worked with the City of Windsor to install the new course at the Oxbow Natural Area, as well as planning the new layout for the Edora Park course redesign.

We continue to search for opportunities to design and install new disc golf courses in Northern Colorado, as well as promote and support this great sport in our community. We welcome all who share our passion to join us!

Club Structure

The club enjoys the support of about 100 dedicated and yearly-renewing members. Of these, a handful of the most committed members volunteer to serve on the Leadership Team. The Leadership Team manages club activities, finances, and merchandise throughout the season, and serves as the liaison for the for the local disc golf community when communicating with city/county officials and the public. The Leadership Team consists of four officers: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, and a changing number of volunteer Directors who handle different club functions and tasks. Volunteer directors are not necessarily board members, but may choose to also run for the Board in order to vote on club decisions.
